             People celebrate Valentine’s day every 14 th of the second month of the year. It is the day people celebrate love where they give their partners some chocolates, flowers, stuff toys and gifts. A lot of people enjoyed the day and I am happy seeing my facebook friends receive flowers and chocolates. But if you’re gonna ask me how my Valentine’s day went? Here it is…       I am in a long-distance relationship so obviously, we did not celebrate it like most of the couples I see. However, I still received tulips flowers in the color of orange, red and a little bit of yellow. There is also a handwritten letter where it says that he picked those colors ‘cause it represents sunset, and I love sunsets! I did not expect to receive those on Valentine’s day so I was really happy when I saw the flowers.        Moreover, we all know what self-love is, it is a love for yourself, an act where you accept and love your flaws.      Kannawidan is one of the most awaited event in Ilocos Sur. It is celebrated every January to February every year and everyone is excited for this celebration. But why do we celebrate Kannawidan? And what is its purpose?       The real reason behind this festival is to promote the culture, traditions and products of the Ilocanos. We are also aware that the generations nowadays do not pay attention on our cultures and traditions any more, and that is also one of the reasons why we have this kind of festival, for young people to at least recognize our own traditions.       Allow me tell you more about this festival. There are plenty of  events that happens during the festival week such as street dancing, products and food trades, motor shows battle of the local bands and many more. There are also some famous filipino actors and actresses that come here every year to entertain the crowd. I enjoyed a lot when I visited the venue of this festival.        Every first month of the year, Vigan, Ilocos Sur is always busy preparing for the Vigan Festival. There are lots of activities that are being held during the festival week such as parades, carnavals, food fairs, and arts and crafts exhibits. Every year, there are thousands of tourists visiting in Vigan just to witness the festival celebration. It is worth it to visit because you will learn a lot about Vigan's culture, products and traditions.  This is an image of the parade celebration of  conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, Vigan City’s patron saint . Vigan City also held a street dancing showdown on January 22, 2023. The dancers did great and it actually gave a great entertainment to the audience. Lastly, my favorite part of the festival, carnival. This was the ride that caught my attention and I really enjoyed visiting during the festival week! Reference:  Vigan City PH.   Christmas, a Holiday almost everyone is celebrating, where everyone gets to spend their time with their loved ones. Christmas carols, gift giving, foods, games, family reunion; these are the things that excite us when we hear the word “Christmas”. However, Christmas is not just about those things, it is made as a celebration for the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.   Celebrating Christmas for the past 2 years was hard for most of the people due to the pandemic and other personal reasons. It was boring for me as well because we weren’t allowed to do carolling to avoid physical interaction with other people. Also, most of our relatives from other province or country could not join us in celebrating the Christmas since they are not allowed to travel. Despite of the situations during Christmas for the past years, this year was different.   Quarter 2 has been more difficult than quarter 1. The fact is that I have no idea what HTML is or how it relates to my previous studies, but my ICT course has helped me clear my mind.HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the most fundamental building block of the Web. It specifies the meaning and structure of online content. One of the most significant advantages of HTML is that it is free, and no special software is required. I also learnt about the two types of tags: stand-alone tags and container tags. Using HTML tags and codes, I can quickly add whatever background color/picture I want. I can also modify the typefaces, font size, and photographs that are related to my themes. At first, I assumed that was all, but I was surprised to see that I could create a form and tables with it. HTML allows me to provide links to my references in each article I write under it.   At first, I was perplexed as to how to properly use the tag and where to put the words and everything.          Everything has a beginning, even the year and that’s what we call “New Year”. Every year, people sets their own “new year’s resolution”, they say that new year is a new chance to be a better person. But really, do we need to wait for another year to be a better person?         “New year, new me”, that’s what most of the people say. They intend to change their lifestyle, attitude, personality, behaviour and many more just to be a better person. However, we should learn that we don’t have to wait for another year to come just to achieve the kind of person we want to be. Everyday is a chance to improve ourselves and that is why I don’t have a “New year, new me”. I choose to take every single day as an opportunity to change and to take a step closer to that kind of person I wanna be.          We must practice improving ourselves everyday, not just on every beginning of the year because who knows what will happen to us?
